The Australian Federal Government continues to update its Digital Economy Strategy with the goal to become a top 10 digital economy and society by 2030. In 2022 a total of $8.8 billion in published contracts were awarded by the Australian public sector across technology, broadcasting and telecommunications with the Australian Federal Government the highest spender at $4.7 billion.

• 34% of total contract value was awarded by Dept of Defence.
• WA is the only State with published contracts over a billion dollars – $1.3B.
• $901M total value secured by DXC making it the highes awarded ICT supplier in 2022.
• 1978 contracts awarded in Software making it the number one procurement subcategory.
• $850M was awarded by Queensland Health which was the highest by a State Department.
• $8.5B of awarded ICT contracts across the Australian public sector will expire in 2023.
